Halo 3 E3 2007 "Arms Race" Trailer
A collaboration between Bungie Studios, director Neill Blomkamp, WETA Workshop and Origami Digital LLC, brings the first digital short depicting humanity's struggle to save Earth.
This live action trailer, entitled "Arms Race" was shown at E3, 2007 as part of Microsoft's presentation. This is the first in a series of shorts to be shown in a similar style to the "Arms Race" trailer. This was shown before the single player gameplay trailer.

Developers on Unreal Engine 3 and the Silicon Knights Lawsuit
After the news broke, Shacknews contacted several developers with personal Unreal Engine experience. The developers spoke on topics such as their reactions to the lawsuit, their studios' track records with the tech, and their own opinions on Epic's level of support. Opinions ranged from positive to negative, though negative responses tended not to hold Epic to the same level of fault as does Silicon Knights' suit. Understandably, some respondents chose to remain anonymous.

Microsoft Xbox chief quits
In a surprise shift at the top of Microsoft Corp.'s video-game business, the company's Xbox chief is resigning for a position at Electronic Arts Inc. -- and he'll be replaced by a former EA executive.
The upcoming departure of Peter Moore, announced Tuesday, follows a recent period of turmoil for Microsoft's Xbox 360, including a costly charge for console malfunctions, and sales that fell short of projections. But Microsoft officials say Moore's decision isn't related.

Teen Buys PS2 on eBay, Receives $90,000 in Cash Instead
A British teenager who bought a Sony PlayStation 2 on eBay for £95 ($194) got more than he bargained for when he opened the package. Instead of a shiny, happy gaming console, there was a whole heap of euros - €65,400 ($90,000) to be precise - stacked neatly inside. A spokesman for eBay said that the parcel's contents were "somewhat unusual", but that they would help the police in any way they could.

Blizzard Working on Third Title!
Gamasutra reports that Frank Pearce of Blizzard Entertainment has just confirmed that the company is working hard on another new title... and it's not World of Warcraft or Starcraft II. 40 people are working on Starcraft II and 40 people are working on this secret Team 3 project, so it's definitely another big one. According to Pearce, "Team 3 is working on something really awesome. I can’t give you any hints, but it’s totally awesome."

Heard At E3: "We Hate Working On The PS3"
It's hard to believe, but every so often the developers at E3 forget that they're talking to a room full of journalists and they say something that they probably shouldn't.
A developer was demonstrating her team's multiplatform game for myself and two other journalists, both of whom happened to have been from Xbox-specific outlets. She jokingly asked if it was ok that we were going to see the Wii version, and the two guys chucklingly assured her that yeah, that was fine.
